The Domaine Périgord Vacances is the result of a succession of professional and family projects over three generations. The first is the creator of this slightly crazy project in Périgord Noir.
In the 1970s, Alban’s grandparents: Philippe Hamelin known as “Didi”, his wife: Christiane and their children settled in the Dordogne and developed an agricultural activity and a small campsite on the farm. The first holidaymakers fall under the spell of this small family structure in the heart of nature. After a few years, in 2004, the second generation (Charles who is Alban’s dad, his wife Béatrice and their four children) took over the management of the campsite…
In love with Périgord, Charles and Béatrice succeed Didi, and wish to continue the development of the campsite while maintaining this family spirit. In 2011, to stand out, they created “Les Cabanes de Jeanne” within the campsite. Thus, 5 perched huts and 4 round huts were built. The creation of these unusual accommodations will give new impetus to this small campsite which will now be able to open its doors for a longer period. The same year, the campsite will join LA VIA NATURA, an association of small nature campsites.
In 2014, Alban joined the adventure and continued with his parents the development of the campsite. These formative years allow him to take over the management of the campsite in 2020 with his wife, Raphaëlle. Thus the third generation takes up the family torch with strength and courage, always respecting family values and the work accomplished.
In 2023, a new page turns and the two entities “Camping Périgord Vacances” and “Les Cabanes de Jeanne” merge and become “Le Domaine Périgord Vacances”.
